We here at If I Blog It They WIll Come are currently immersed in the wonderful read that is Live From New York: An Uncensored History of Saturday Night Live. We haven’t made it very far just yet, but yesterday we happened upon an interview bite from our favorite comedian/actor/best supporting actor Oscar-winner (we’re referring to you of course) on page 112 in which you discuss your first experience at the fabled after-show Blues Bar and how Dan Aykroyd tempered your reluctance to enter by assuring you that there were “amazing people” and “wonderful music” if you would just “step inside”.
Well, Mr. Williams, even though thirty years have passed it seems that once again you’ve found yourself in a similar situation. We here at If I Blog It They Will Come fancy our blog somewhat of the Saturday Night Live Blues Bar of the Internet. We’re making wonderful music in the way that we think of each successive post as a beautiful blues melody, a blues melody that cries “Robin Williams ain’t done been to our blog and we don’t know where he’s been. We wish we had a picture of him looking at our blog so we could put down this bottle of gin.”
Now if only we could be as persuasive as the venerable Mr. Aykroyd was back in the 1970’s so you might feel the need to “step inside” and acquaint yourself with the “amazing people” that put the hard work into this blog. Would it help if we told you that in the looks department we’ve been compared to John Belushi? In any case, if you should feel even the slightest inkling to join us by sending a photo of yourself looking at our blog to djayek@yahoo.com, know that we would be delighted to have you.
